If a doctor ordered a cholesterol test, a lipid panel, or told you that you needed to fast overnight, the required fasting period is 10 to 12 hours. You may drink as much water as you like. You may also take prescribed medications unless your provider specifically told you not to take them. Active duty Airmen needing labs, you must go to Public Health located on the second floor of the clinic prior to coming to the lab. Walk-In testing is available for pregnancy, urinary tract infection (UTI) and strep throat tests. You must report to the front desk of the clinic where your primary care manager is located. Do not come directly to the lab. The lab staff may not release results to patients under any circumstances. To get copies of your results, you must either contact the ordering provider or go to Medical Records located on the first floor of the clinic. The lab will fax results to an off-base provider only if that provider ordered the test.
